The best pad we carry. Made from felt, not foam, this pad is 4mm thick and offers the greatest sound reduction. Like all of our underlayment this includes the moisture barrier and self adhesive strips.
Featherstep 2mm Acoustical Pad w/ Moisture Barrier (100 SQFT) $35.00/each
2mm pad with moisture barrier. This pad lowers the hollow sound from laminate and also creates a better feel when walked on. There are also self adheasive strips on the sides for faster and eaiser installation.
DuoFoam 2mm Pad w/ Moisture Barrier (100 SQFT) $15.99/each
This is our standard underlayment. It is a 2MM white foam with built in moisture barrier. Also has the adhesive tape strip on the side for the next row to adhere to. You would use this when flooring does not have padding attached.
All Laminate Floorings require some type of moisture barrier to be placed under. This plastic is designed to be used under laminates that have the padding already pre-attached. If you are installing over concrete or crawl space you will need this plastic.
Install Kit $9.95/each
Make your laminate installation eaiser and faster with this kit. Includes spacers, tapping block and pry bar.

These floors are absolutely gorgeous. We love the texture and they are very easy to keep clean. They were easy to install as well, our installer at first said it would take about 12 hours to complete and it only took about 6. This picture is of our dining room but we had these installed in our florida room, living room, dining room and hall.
Best floor for the money Review by Barb from TN

I bought a little over 1000 sq. feet last year and it arrived by truck not even a week later. It's beautiful. It's a matte finish and lays down easily with a few tips. Our home is very modern and this really works with that. So, it's been down more than 6 months and as near as I can tell, it's indestructible. We have 2 dogs and we're still in the process of remodeling our home. We love this floor so much, we drove to Indianna to get 400 more sq. feet so we could do both bedrooms. You will not find a better floor for the money - anywhere. I spent weeks looking. You'll love the color - goes really great with black and/or dark brown furniture. Just order a sample and you'll see it's a high quality product. FTYH is a very good company to work with and it was fun to go to their store/ warehouse.
Great Floor..Great Value Review by Joe V

I ordered 900sqft plus the Robbins felt padding. It arrived on time and in great condition. I have used laminate flooring on other projects, this ranks right at the top.It looked good on the web picture.....it looks GREAT on the floor.
Laminate flooring planks are made of a few, basic layers. The bulk of the plank is called the core layer. The bottom layer of laminate is a firm stabilizing layer, and the top two layers are the photograph that displays the particular look you are after, and a transparent finishing layer on top of that, which protects the laminate from scratches, stains and moisture.
Can I install laminate flooring myself?
Because of the prevalence of click together, floating floor installation systems, it is very possible that you could do a laminate flooring installation by yourself. It is not only likely to be very easy to do, but there is also a wealth of online information on how to install laminate flooring. All laminates come with installation instructions. We are producing an increasing number of videos demonstrating the click together systems and other installation issues, and there are plenty more out on the web.
Where can laminate flooring be installed?
It can be installed over both concrete and wood, both above and below grade (ground level), and into almost any room in any home, but can laminates really go everywhere? Well no, not quite. If your basement regularly floods, you should avoid laminate, and it can never be installed outdoors.
Do I need padding or underlayment for my laminate flooring installation?
You will need some kind of padding, or "underlayment", to go between your subfloor and your new laminate flooring. These help smooth the subfloor, keeping very minor imperfections in flatness from affecting your final floor, reducing walking sound, and protecting from moisture. Many laminates come with pad attached to the back. This can speed up an installation, unless you are installing below ground level.
Below ground level & on concrete subfloors, a moisture barrier will be required, and attached padding does not include a moisture barrier. Now for those products which do not have pad attached, rolls of padding are available in a few different kinds, most of which do include the vapor barrier, so you only have one thing to roll out.
How do I clean my new laminate floor?
Vacuum, using a machine without a beater bar. Use a vacuum cleaner with either a soft brush, or with a special wood flooring accessory. This may be done daily without hurting your floor.
Dust mop with either an actual dust mop, or just using a dry, clean cloth.
Remove footprints and dried up, tracked in mud with nothing more than a moist cloth. Soak it, wring it out, and hit your dirty spot. It's that simple.
Do. Not. Wet mop.
Are laminate floors moisture resistant or waterproof, and what is the difference?
Laminate floors are moisture resistant, but not waterproof. This means that they can actually handle a pretty big spill, but only for a while. You will want to wipe up any spills as soon as you can get to them. Don't let them sit for too long, or the liquid may eventually make its way into the gaps between your planks. Pay special attention to a pets' food and water area, as their liquid lapping will splatter water into little pockets of sitting water. That's an easy one to miss.
Is laminate flooring pet friendly?
Laminate flooring is coated with an aluminum oxide wear layer. This coating is extremely durable and will prevent pets from scratching your new laminate floor. Aluminum oxide *may* be the second hardest substance on earth after diamonds. The fact that it's even arguable is still good news, we think.
How durable is laminate flooring?
Unlike real wood, laminate flooring will not fade. Even direct sunlight over a long period of time will not dull the images. As a rule, all laminate is considered to be more durable than carpet, and most exceed the durability of hardwood floors as well. You can walk in high heels on some laminates, but can't on any hardwood floors. In areas with high foot traffic, especially by children or pets, or in commercial locations, laminate floors can be extremely impact, scratch and stain resistant. High durability laminate flooring is always going to be available.
But you might have a room without those concerns. Here is where the variety becomes good for you. You might be able to get the look you want while spending even less money for a floor with less thickness, or a lower AC rating (a scale used to convey the durability of laminate flooring - higher AC ratings tend to come with more expensive floors).
Is laminate flooring hypoallergenic?
The design and finishes on laminate floors leave no way for the planks to catch dust, pollen, pet dander or other allergens. Also, the underlayment required for all laminate floors creates a barrier, keeping moisture from damaging your floor, and preventing the growth of molds, spores and fungus.
What patterns or styles are available for laminate flooring?
Because the appearance comes from a photograph, laminate flooring can look like almost anything. This includes not just wood in general, but also the expensive, exotic species of wood that may not even be available as a genuine hardwood choice due to the rarity of the trees or import issues. Choices can include attractive stone and tile looks without the cold hardness, or any worry about breaking or cracking a tile. With laminate flooring you can select from an almost endless variety of types, colors, plank sizes and surface styles, while you accommodate your durability needs.
Do you pull the spacers out at the end, or just hide them with the side boards?
You pull the spacers out at the end. The gaps left between your flooring and your wall will be hidden under side boards and trims. The gaps around your floor allow it to slip further under your trims or pull back away as the floor expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. You can see how this works in the first image on this Learning Center article about quarter rounds.
We must put 6ml plastic underneath the laminate flooring when installing to prevent moisture, correct?
You only must if you are installing over concrete or over a crawl space. There you have to, and with other types of subfloors it is simply an option. You can, but do not have to. I mention that because most floor padding, felt or foam, for example, comes with an attached moisture barrier, and that won't hurt anything even if you don't need it.
Here's a short video about moisture barriers that could also help!
Can my laminate 'floating floor' be glued down?
This will be specific to each series of laminate, and something you would find in the installation instructions. We keep those online on every product's page. We generally don't advise it, because you should generally install a floor in the way it is designed to be done. Some manufacturers will advise putting glue along the top of the locking mechanisms if your laminate will be going into a moisture prone room. This can help keep any moisture up top, on the surface of the planks, and help keep it from getting down into the seams. Again, it is going to be specific to each floor you examine, so check the documentation we keep online, of feel free to call us or start a chat..
Is there anywhere that Laminate Flooring cannot go?
Sort of, yes. It's not so much places as it is kinds of places. This Learning Center piece, appropriately titled Where can’t a laminate flooring go?, should tell you where and why.
Can you advise on all the materials I need to get started installing laminate flooring?
I only have the laminate floorings but not the material I think goes underneath. What can you tell me about floor pad?
Yes, twice over! First, this first, short padding video should help you determine what you need based on the kind of subfloor you have, and the kind of laminate you bought.
We also have a blog post about the appropriate thickness of padding for your situation, and why it matters.
Our basement flooded for the first time in years. We had carpeting and are changing to laminate flooring that looks like wood. Did we do the right thing?
We don’t consider laminate flooring to be one of the best basement flooring alternatives because laminates aren’t good with water in general, let alone flooding. If flooding only happens every 25 years or so, this may not be a concern for you.
In addition to the link above, we have this one, an article on Best Flooring For A Flooding-Prone Basement that might help you out.
Will laminate flooring hold a large pool table without denting?
All of our laminate floors should handle the weight of a pool table without denting - in fact laminates rarely dent - but you should use little floor protectors under the feet of the table for any scratching as the table shifts. Check the AC Ratings on any laminate floor you consider. Most of our products are rated AC3 ( for heavy residential and light commercial use), and several are rated AC4 ( for commercial use).
General Flooring & Shipping Questions
Why do you advertise FREE SHIPPING and when I go to order you charge me shipping?
We offer free shipping to our customers with a minimum purchase of flooring. We have a minimum because the freight companies have minimums. The minimum purchase is displayed on all of the product pages in the gray box under START HERE. In certain cases, if you are located in a remote area where it is difficult for a truck to deliver, a surcharge may apply.
What should I use to level the subfloor?
Any self leveling compound/concrete will be sufficient to level an existing concrete sub-floor. If you have a solid wood sub-floor (plywood, OSB, etc.) you can use a thin sheet of luan to level the entire sub floor.
What kind of free padding do you receive with your purchase?
When free padding is included with the purchase, it is a Duo Foam Underlayment with a built in moisture barrier, 2mm thick. This product has Lip & Tape for easy installation and is designed for floating floors going over concrete and wood subfloors.
How do I measure for flooring?
It's very easy! Just take the length of your room and multiply by the width of the room. That = total square feet of the room.
Example:length of room = 20 feet
width of room = 13 feet
Total sq ft = 20 x 13 = 260 sq ft
What types of floors can be used on cement subfloors?
Almost all the flooring we sell at Floors To Your Home can be installed on cement subfloors except 3/4" solid hardwood. You must usually put down a vapor barrier when installing over cement subfloors, except with the waterproof options. Check our website for detailed instructions on your specific products but most laminate, click vinyl and engineered hardwood can be floated over cement subfloors.
I am interested in several of your floors, but noticed that in some of them you have less square feet than I need - is it possible to get more?
Our inventory changes with new items arriving every day. Most of our stock is one of a kind inventory (factory closeouts, overstocked merchandise, etc.) but we do restock a good portion of our products though it could be 90-120 day wait time. I would suggest that you call our customer service people, and they can give you specifics on which items will be replenished.
I'm looking at the Loose Lay vinyl plank as shown in the video. Can you tell me the company and who we would contact just in case we need to use the warranty (hope we never have to, but curious)?
Good question! With Supreme Click items, you would contact us because it is our brand. For other brand name items such as Armstrong, Mohawk and Shaw, you would also contact us as your first step. Depending on the situation, we might get you in direct in contact with the manufacturer. If it's allowed, we might even be able to take care of the arrangements for you ourselves, but either way, you can start by calling us!
Does Floors To Your Home rebrand name floors, re-labeling a different Tarkett line as "Newport" for instance?
We do receive a lot of factory overstocks, special runs and discontinued patterns. We do not rebrand the name when we purchase these floors.
What are "Seconds" in Laminate Flooring?
This is best answered on our blog post with Facts on Laminate Flooring Seconds. It has an explanation, pros & cons, and a video showing how they can be used to make a gorgeous floor.
When ordering the trims, will they be the same color as the flooring I order? If not, how noticeable would it be?
We do not carry exact match trims. We can normally get a 80-95% match depending on the product you are ordering. We will match a trim sample swatch to your floor, and if the match is close, we can process your order. If we think the match might not be close, then prior to placing the order we will e-mail you a picture for your confirmation. Since these are shipped factory direct, we cannot refund these trims.
If you want a perfect match rather than a slight accent with your trim, we also have unfinished trims you can order and stain yourself. You can take them to a paint specialist, such as a Sherwin Williams, along with a piece of the flooring, and they can get you a stain to match.
What do I need to do to get samples?
If you're on one of our Product Lists, just click on the picture of the one you want in order to go to the product page. On the right hand side will be a yellow button that says order a sample. You'll be walked through them process from there!
I see that there is free shipping on certain orders. Can you tell me how to qualify?
We have free shipping on most products. You just need to order a certain minimum to qualify. We have a minimum because the freight companies have minimums. Each product will list how many cartons we are able to ship free. If you order less, though, we still prorate the shipping. That means that there is not a huge all-or-nothing shift in cost if you only order 19 when the minimum is 20.
I'm not sure if I have asbestos in my flooring. What should I do?
A question about asbestos in a basement was posed on our blog, and we decided the best thing was to answer it with a full post (click the link).
Isn't your flooring from China?
As far as where it is made, we purchase finished goods from twelve manufacturers located domestically and worldwide, including Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Switzerland and China.
If you're asking if we have it shipped to you from China, then definitely not! We ship right from our stock, which is kept in our warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Out average delivery time is 4-6 business days from the date the order is placed. Can't do that from China!
Can I get a call from the shipper the day of delivery, to be sure someone is there to receive the floor?
Your local freight carrier will call one day ahead to schedule a window of time for your delivery, ranging from 2 hours to 6 hours depending on the company. At the time of that call, you can request a call in advance of your specific stop. It's in the driver's best interest as well as yours to coordinate well, so they should be pretty amenable. We recommend that you start by asking for a 1 hour advance call, though the driver may have to go by his stops rather than time on a clock. Consider too that cell phone service may be spotty where the driver is exactly an hour before arriving.
For more on how deliveries work, we interviewed a driver.
...but the second video on that page is even MORE important.
I see that you guys apply up to $15 in samples to our order? Is that correct?
Correct! Samples cost $1 each plus a $5 charge for delivery. We ask you to cover this much of the cost of the samples up front, and if you decide to place an order we will credit up to $15 worth of sample costs at the time of the flooring purchase.
We ordered some samples, but we're still a little nervous about purchasing since they are seconds. If we come into the showroom, will we be able to look at actual boxes of the product that we will be purchasing?
We usually do have a carton of every product open at our showroom. You can see some of the character better when you have full planks to look at. We do not open multiple boxes, however, because once we break the banding or shrink-wrap to open a box, it won't ship as well, and it is basically only useful for more samples.
Can vinyl floating floors be used where temperatures go below freezing with no heating in the winter?
So far, all of the flooring we have sold is meant to be laid in environmentally controlled structures, Now, this does not mean that a power outage is going to kill your flooring, but leaving it unattended and frozen for a season will at least void most flooring warranties
How do you measure the size of a rom in square feet?
Simply multiply a rectangular room's length times its width. This will give you the area in square feet. (Adding the measurements of each of the room's length and width sides together will give a measure of the perimeter.)
