Hardwood vs. Laminate

Hardwood vs. Laminate

The number one question people ask me is what is the difference between Hardwood Flooring and Laminate Flooring? Both flooring options are a hard surface and many laminate flooring options look like real hardwood. Most people assume that laminate flooring is made of wood but that is not true.

Laminate flooring is actually made of recycled wood fibers or melamine resin with a photograph on top of the material sealed with aluminum oxide finish. Solid hardwood on the other hand is made completely of domestic wood like oak and hickory or more exotics like Brazilian teak and heartwood. Both can make your home look like a million bucks.
